Anna Townley

Until recently, artist Anna Townley was a long-time resident of Norwich, but recently moved herself and her family to Portugal where her 3 children are now learning the language. Colour is fundamental to the way she understands her surroundings, relationships, and to how she paints. Townley explores ways of enriching colour by layering paint, playing with the translucency and opaqueness of pigments; often beginning with opposite colours, building through layers towards the final tone.
